New breeding values December Swedish Red

New breeding values again, and here are some short comments on the news. Now we finally can introduce the new star the Peterslund son – Inlag II. Another new bull is the B Jurist son Tomteby both with limited semen available, but at least some.

92290 Inlag II (Peterslund x Nystrand x Hansmoen) is in the top together with St Hallebo and G Edbo on NTM +28. Inlag II has an excellent Viking profile – strong for all “health traits” like fertility, calvings, udder health and other diseases. He also transmits good udders and legs. So finally a Peterslund son that kicks his sire down the rank. Some of you probably remember the old SRB bull 93787 Inlag. The new Inlag II comes from the same herd and the same cow family, old 3787 Inlag is brother to new 2290 Inlags great grandmother 529 Regina.

92303 Tomteby ( B Jurist x Sköle x Ingvasta) NTM +20 is so far our best B Jurist son. He transmits very good daughter fertility along side with a good proof for calvings – both as sire and as MGS. Udder health and milking speed is also excellent. The udders are good as excpected with this sire stack – high and wide rear udders, with excellent ligament. His dam was a high producing cow averaging 12 249 kg milk /year in 3 years and 7 months.

In the top Inlag II still share the position with St Hallebo. St Hallebo is extremely popular domestically and internationally so there is a waiting list. No surprise – he is a excellent bull. Combining high daughter fertility, good fat and protein components, fantastic udder health with easy calving daughters with excellent udders.

Another bull on fantastic NTM +28 is G Edbo (Botans x Abru x Hulan). G Edbo breeds just as his sire high yielding cows. The daughters have very easy to give birth and the daughter fertility is positive as well as calving ease as sire. The conformation is average. G Edbo is from the same dam as 2104 Gunnarstorp, a strong Abru cow that is still producing, so far with 7 calves and a lactation average of over 10 000 kg milk.

For you that are specifically interested in Peterslund’s sons – have a look at 92236 Hällom (Peterslund x Stensjö x Heligo) on NTM +21. He already got quite a bit of semen available too. He transmits good production, with good fat and protein %. He is calving ease and the daughters give birth really easy, slightly negative for udder health but well attached good udders.

Sexed semen, X-Vik is available from 91997 Långbo and 91805 O Brolin.
