Veterinary Assistant (Denmark)

In order to strengthen our daily operations and cooperation internally as externally, we are looking to hire a conscientious and skilled Veterinary Assistant with a positive and proactive attitude.
The position is fixed-term employment for 1 year.

Your main tasks will be:

  • Support to our Veterinary team
  • Structuring, planning, conducting and re-evaluate procedures in relation of testing animals
  • Participation in collection of flush samples, blood samples and DNA samples Sending samples to laboratory and transfer results to Microsoft NAV
  • Animal registrations and registration of animal movements
  • Handling of import semen
  • Do weight and other measurement of young bulls in cooperation with barn and R&D Optimizing veterinary related registration procedures in Microsoft NAV
  • Back up on remaining tasks in vet department

You will work together with Veterinarians, Barn staff, Export coordinators and will be reporting to our Chief Veterinarian. The main office is located in Assentoft, close to Randers.

Your Qualifications:

  • Relevant education could be as Famer, Animal Caretaker, Vet nurse or AP Graduate in Agro Business and Landscape Management
  • Excellent knowledge of animal husbandry
  • Medication/injection course
  • Experienced user of Office package, Microsoft NAV and Herd Management Program - DMS
  • Social skills and ability to handle cultural differences, internally and externally
  • First class communication skills, able to operate professionally and effectively at all levels
  • English language at fluent level – oral and written.
