VikMate and genomic testing popular in Norway

Farmers are showing interest in using VikMate and genomic testing on heifers as tools to improve their herds in Norway. Export Manager Peter Holm Weinkouff was recently in Norway visiting farmers and advising on VikMate.
Our Export Manager Peter Holm Weinkouff was recently in Norway giving advice on breeding to local farmers in the Jæren area. It was a busy week with visits to known customers and to new ones. These new customers are interested in our VikMate program helping to prepare mating plans for your herd and in genomic tests of females in their herds.
Knut Undheim's Jerseys
Weinkouff visited Knut Undheim running a Jersey herd. His herd is a very well run herd with a lot of very fine Jersey cows in the barn. The herd is in the very top when it comes to production of kilo fat and protein in Norway.
Erland Harrestad’s Holstein herd
Another visit was to Erland Harrestad’s herd. He is a new customer to VikingGenetics. He runs his herd of 60 Holstein cows together with his wife. In the photo, he shows a VH Suarez daughter in her 2nd lactation. He is very content with this cow. He has three other VH Suarez daughters in the herd. Erland has genomically tested many heifers from his herd and will continue to so in future.
