Strong performers and exciting new additions across VikingHolstein, VikingRed, and VikingJersey

The latest proof run highlights a strong lineup of high-performing sires across all breeds, combining production, health, fertility and functionality. The new proofs bring exciting new pedigrees, more polled options and several daughter-proven bulls that continue to strengthen the VikingGenetics portfolio for modern dairy herds.

Breeding values are calculated by the Nordic Cattle Genetic Evaluation (NAV), an independent organization that ensures objective, reliable, and scientifically based evaluations. NAV’s mission is to carry out joint breeding value evaluations for both dairy and beef cattle across Finland, Sweden, and Denmark, supporting a unified Nordic approach to genetic improvement.

Established in 2002, NAV has continuously developed and refined its joint evaluation system to provide breeders and farmers with accurate tools for sustainable and profitable breeding decisions. NAV is owned by the member organizations Landbrug & Fødevarer, Faba, and Växa Sverige. As an independent evaluation body, NAV guarantees a high level of objectivity and reliability in Nordic cattle genetic evaluations and indices.

VikingHolstein

The latest proof run introduces several strong new VikingHolstein bulls with high production, excellent functionality and increasing availability of polled genetics. The VikingHolstein bull lineup combines balanced Viking profiles with modern pedigrees suited for all production systems.

New additions to the VikingHolstein bull lineup:

  • VH Mads P (Mecanico x Freewood P) – gNTM +47
    The new top bull in the global list. A true Viking profile bull combining production, health, fertility and functional conformation. Good milking speed, saved feed and calving ease make him suitable for all systems. Also heterozygous polled, helping reduce the need for dehorning in the herd.

  • VH StoryRC (VH Sweet P x Camden) – gNTM +39
    One of the top health bulls in the breed. All health traits are at a high level and the fertility index of 121 is among the best available. Daughters also deliver good production and temperament. Red carrier.

  • VH Racer (VH Rahim x Camden) – gNTM +37
    Even stronger in fertility than his brother VH StoryRC, with fertility index 124. Daughters combine high production with excellent udders, good feet & legs and strong longevity.

  • VH PuzzleP (VH Padel x VH SlyPPRC) – gNTM +36
    A pure VikingHolstein pedigree. The only VH Padel son combines production, health, fertility and conformation — everything needed in a modern herd. Heterozygous polled, offering the added advantage of hornless offspring.

  • VH Samurai (VH Sonny x VH Putur) – gNTM +35
    One of the highest production bulls in the lineup with a nice outcross pedigree that makes him easy to use. Good teat size and improved rear udders add extra functionality.

  • VH SitrusP (VH Sitron x VH Namur P) – gNTM +34
    Another high production bull. Similar to his sire VH Sitron but even better for components, fertility and longevity. Also heterozygous polled and ideal for increasing milk and solids.

  • VH ShottyP (VH Shuba P x VH Brooklyn) – gNTM +33
    From a cow family known for excellent production and high components. Daughters combine milk and solids with good health, fertility and nice udders with good teat size. Longevity index 114 ties the profile together. Also heterozygous polled, helping reduce the need for dehorning in the herd.

VH Gipsy (Garfield x VH Raggat) is now daughter-proven with NTM +37. More than 1,300 daughters confirm he is an excellent choice for every herd. VH Gipsy breeds daughters with high production of milk and solids, strong health (Udder health 107, General health 113, Hoof health 111) and good longevity.  In addition, the Saved Feed index of 110 highlights the exceptional efficiency of his daughters. The bull remains active and produces doses well in both conventional and X-Vik semen, giving all farmers access to his genetics.

Times are changing, and our polled bulls' performance level keeps improving. Polled cows mean zero dehorning costs, better welfare, less labour, and better safety.

VikingRed

The VikingRed bull lineup includes several exciting new additions with strong production profiles, excellent functionality and improved longevity. Many VikingRed bulls combine high solids with health, fertility and conformation, offering flexible solutions for all herd types.

  • VR Setri (VR Safir x VR Taison) – gNTM +38
    A bull with a nice and different pedigree. Daughters have average milk yield but very high components, making VR Setri a true solids specialist. Excellent udder conformation combined with good teat size and milking speed make him easy to use.

  • VR Unico P (VR Ulvar x VR Vilho P) – gNTM +38
    The best VR Ulvar son with excellent milk, components and persistency. Health, fertility and conformation support strong longevity, with daughters reaching longevity index 119. Also heterozygous polled, contributing to improved animal welfare and reduced dehorning work.

  • VR Vatt (VR Veikee x VR Event) – gNTM +29
    A strong production bull with milk index 115 and above-average fat and protein percentages. Ideal for breeding bigger cows with good capacity. Functional traits such as milkability, temperament, longevity and youngstock survival are all at a very high level.

  • VR Bontelo (VR Boho x VR Herluf) – gNTM +28
    A true component king with good milk production as well. Daughters are easy calving with good health and functionality. A particularly good choice for VR Vimo and VR Vesty daughters.

  • VR Fornbro (VR Ferrix x VR Taison) – gNTM +27
    A real production bull combining milk and solids. Similar to his sire VR Ferrix, he offers a strong combination of production, conformation, udder health, temperament and longevity.

VR Vesty continues to stay at the very top of the breed. This living legend improves again in the latest proof run with NTM +44. More than 2,800 daughters confirm excellent profitability through strong production, conformation and longevity. In addition, the Saved Feed index of 117 highlights the exceptional efficiency of his daughters.

Currently, we have four polled VikingRed bulls: VR Fluri P gNTM+38, VR Unico P gNTM +38, VR Vinci P gNTM +28 and daughter-proven VR Frape P NTM +31.

VikingJersey

The VikingJersey bull lineup continues to strengthen with productive, healthy and functional bulls, including more polled genetics and strong daughter-proven results.

New additions to the VikingJersey bull lineup:

  • VJ SafariP (VJ Swift P x VJ Hamulus) – gNTM +38
    The new top bull in the global list. Sire VJ Swift P lives in France, and VJ SafariP offers an excellent opportunity to access those genetics. Daughters combine very high production with good health, fertility, excellent conformation and strong longevity. Heterozygous polled, offering the added advantage of hornless offspring.

  • VJ Sassy (VJ Sultan x VJ Higg) – gNTM +35
    The best VJ Sultan son. A bull delivering high production, good udder health and nice udders. Particularly useful for improving teat size.

    Another VJ Sultan son, also heterozygous polled. Good milk and solids with high components, combined with strong udder health, general health and hoof health.

    An excellent VJ Danka son producing daughters with very good production, udder conformation, teat size and temperament, all contributing to strong longevity. Daughters are tall with good capacity.

    A homozygous polled bull sired by French bull VJ Three P. Nice udder conformation with good teat size combined with milk, solids, good temperament and longevity.

The VikingJersey lineup continues to offer diverse pedigrees, strong health traits and increasing access to polled genetics, helping farmers build efficient and profitable Jersey herds for the future.

The updated bull lineup also includes many polled bulls with diverse pedigrees, making them easy to use in any herd.

Currently, we have six polled VikingJersey bulls, including two homozygous polled (PP), so 100% of their daughters will be born without horns, such as:
