The latest proof run highlights a strong lineup of high-performing sires across all breeds, combining production, health, fertility and functionality. The new proofs bring exciting new pedigrees, more polled options and several daughter-proven bulls that continue to strengthen the VikingGenetics portfolio for modern dairy herds.

Breeding values are calculated by the Nordic Cattle Genetic Evaluation (NAV), an independent organization that ensures objective, reliable, and scientifically based evaluations. NAV’s mission is to carry out joint breeding value evaluations for both dairy and beef cattle across Finland, Sweden, and Denmark, supporting a unified Nordic approach to genetic improvement.

Established in 2002, NAV has continuously developed and refined its joint evaluation system to provide breeders and farmers with accurate tools for sustainable and profitable breeding decisions. NAV is owned by the member organizations Landbrug & Fødevarer, Faba, and Växa Sverige. As an independent evaluation body, NAV guarantees a high level of objectivity and reliability in Nordic cattle genetic evaluations and indices.

VikingHolstein

The latest proof run introduces several strong new VikingHolstein bulls with strong production, components and functional traits, together with several polled options. The VikingHolstein bull lineup combines balanced Viking profiles with modern pedigrees suited for a wide range of production systems.

New additions to the VikingHolstein bull lineup:

VH Diesel (VH Dario x VH Armon) – gNTM +37
A very nice Viking profile combining milk and components with good functional traits and health. His daughters are average in size with good capacity, very good temperament and strong longevity.

VH Summit P (Smoke Owen x Freewood P) – gNTM +37
The dam of VH Summit P, T. Mona-Lisa P, is also the dam of three excellent VH sires: VH Sheriff, VH Mads P and VH Summit P. If you are looking for a polled bull with good milk, high components, excellent fertility, good health and functional conformation, VH Summit P is an excellent choice.

VH KlasPPR (Keane PPR x Sauna PRC) – gNTM +36
The best Red Holstein and double-polled PP bull. A real production bull bringing both milk and components. His daughters are average in size with good udder health and fertility.

An excellent package of milk, components, solids and conformation. Daughters have beautiful udders with average teat size and excellent fore udder attachments, together with good capacity.

A real outcross pedigree that makes this bull easy to use in every herd. VH SantoPP brings solids, fertility, health, conformation and longevity — all key traits for a modern herd. And, of course, polled daughters.

VH Galaxy (Glax v VHBrooklyn) remains on top with gNTM +44 and is also ranking very well in many countries.

VH Mads P gNTM +43 is a good semen producer and available for everyone.

VH Gipsy (Garfield x VH Raggat) now has almost 3,000 daughters in production, and his daughters are performing well. His son VH Gilmore gNTM +38 is also available.

Times are changing, and the performance level of our polled bulls keeps improving. Polled cows mean zero dehorning costs, better welfare, less labour and better safety.

There are currently eight polled VikingHolstein bulls, including three homozygous polled (PP), meaning all their daughters will be born without horns:

VikingRed

The new VikingRed bulls bring strong production and components together with fertility, health and functional conformation. The latest additions also include a new polled bull and several exciting outcross pedigrees.

New additions to the VikingRed bull lineup:

VR Vojne (VR Vinston x VR Hage P) – gNTM +36
A very nice production bull without faults. VR Vojne combines excellent components with very good conformation and good teat size. His daughters are average in size with good capacity.

VR Heart (VR Holt x VR Heinz) – gNTM +29
What a profile! VR Heart is positive for milk, components, fertility, calving traits and health. His daughters are good in size and have excellent udders and feet & legs.

VR Valor P (VR Vacay P x VR Uppura) – gNTM +29
A new polled bull with very good functional traits. His daughters are a little smaller than average, with excellent feet & legs and nice udder conformation. He combines high components with excellent daughter fertility and calving traits.

VR Helger (VR Henkka x VR Heinz) – gNTM +28
An outcross pedigree bull with good functional traits. VR Helger is a real component king, which also means very good udder health. His daughters are a little bigger, with very good capacity and nice udders. Good milking speed, temperament and longevity complete the profile.

VR Vesty continues to stay at the very top with NTM +43. His son VR Vinci P NTM +28 is now also daughter-proven and available in the global bull lineup. VR Unico P gNTM +38 remains an excellent bull with high production and good conformation.

VR Setri gNTM +38, VR Athos gNTM +32, VR Bontelo gNTM +27 and VR Fornbro gNTM +26 are also continuing to perform strongly.

Polled genetics continue to gain momentum in VikingRed. Polled cows can help eliminate dehorning costs and labour while supporting animal welfare and safer herd management.

The latest VikingJersey proof run adds three new bulls with strong components, fertility, health and conformation. The breed also continues to offer attractive polled genetics and strong daughter-proven results.

The highest VJ Dalin son in the latest proof run. VJ Kiehne is a real top bull across health traits and fertility. His daughters are tall with excellent udders and feet & legs. Good teat size is another useful feature.

VJ Splash sons VJ Swan and VJ Sultan, both with gNTM +32, are still performing well and will soon be ready to receive their first daughter proofs.

The VikingJersey lineup continues to offer diverse pedigrees and increasing access to polled genetics, helping farmers build efficient and profitable Jersey herds for the future.

Currently, we have seven polled VikingJersey bulls, including two homozygous polled (PP), meaning 100% of their daughters will be born without horns. These include:
