November proofleaders – The top NTM bulls 

The November proof run has given us new #proofleaders for VikingHolstein, VikingRed and VikingJersey. See the bull introductions below.

VikingHolstein

VH Growny

VH Goleen x Rodgers x Bookem

Already at the index run in August, VH Growny became the proofleader among the genomic bulls. At this index run, he impressively keeps the leading position with extraordinary +38 in NTM.

Are you interested in getting the rare combination of cows with high production from super components and at the same time fantastic health and fertility, and additionally average sized cow then have a closer look at VH Growny.

VH Growny will give you very high-producing cows (124) with fat% index 127 and protein% index at 129. He manages to combine production with health and fertility; breeding 117 in female fertility, 114 in udder health and 113 in general health. Conformation is really nice with medium size.

His sire is VH Goleen (VH Grace x VH Bostrup x D Rodding) The dam is a fantastic Rodgers daughter that just calved in for the second time and is still a fantastic cow. She has an average production of 11,900 kg milk with 4.23% fat and 3.56% protein and is classified VG85. Her dam is an even higher producing Bookem cow with more than 13,200 kg in average.

VH Bernell
NTM +33 proven
Bube x VH Salomon x Mascol

Winner of Hall of Fame 2019 elected by the Holstein Association in Denmark. VH Bernell is the farmers’ choice and his outstanding daughter proofs underline why!
He is the combination of high production and at the same time more healthy and fertile cows? 

Highly reliable VH Bernell continues his climb and raises to +33 in NTM and now based on more than 4,200 milking daughters and more than 1,800 classified. He has the kind of profile that farmers like. Breeding strong production (121), good female fertility (112) easy calvings (111), healthy hoofs (112) and functional conformation.
 
Very nice to see that he is impressively high on the new trait saved feed with 109.
His dam has produced for more than four years with an average of 12,000 kg milk, 4.51% fat and 3.72% protein. Her dam – a Mascol daughter was equally high producing.

VR Vimo

VR Viljar x Rockstar x R Fastrup

Are you looking for a bull that can make some good-looking cows? Then you definitely need to use VR Vimo. He will give you cows with high stature and strong body with great feet and legs (114) as well as excellent udder (125). At the same time, you also get a good production with a super fat percent, extraordinary hoof health (123) and good udder health. 

VR Vimo is a very good example what happens then the best genetics from more countries are mixed. The sire VR Viljar from Finland has bred many very good sons in terms of NTM. The MGS Rockstar is one of the best Canadian bulls and he his grandsire is the Swedish bull Peterslund. The Danish bull R Fastrup has sired many super cows that the farmers have been very satisfied with. In September VR Vimo became the VR bull of year in Denmark.     

VR Vimo’s dam - NTM +31 - is probably the best Rockstar cow in the whole world. She is in her third lactation and still a great looking cow (86-86-89-89) with high production with great components. In average over 3.2 years she has produced close to 1,100 kg per dry matter with more than 11,500 kg milk with 5.4% fat and 4.0% protein. She has been flushed once and VikingGenetics bought a VR Wookie heifer from that flush. Her first calf was a VR Fonseca heifer and she has also been flushed.

VR Thiago
NTM +33 proven
VR Tuomi x R Haslev x R David

It looks like VR Thiago is glued to the top of the list of proven bulls. He has been the best proven bull for quite a long time, and he keeps his position at the top of the list in this round. With +33 in NTM he can still take up the fight with the best genomic bulls. He will give you great production potential (123) with many kg of milk together with excellent hoof health (125) and great feet and legs (117). On top of that you will get good fertility, great young stock survival easy calvings. 

The dam of VR Thiago is a great R Haslev cow that VikingGenetics has bought one more bull from. The GMGD was an excellent R Ascona that won the “Health Cow Prize” at the 2014 Agromek and she made in total eight lactations. The home farm is one of the highest producing organic farms in Denmark having mainly Holstein cows.

Are you looking for production of milk solids – go for VJ Sort!
VJ Sort is a breed leader for Production (127) and high percentages (120 F% and 123 P%). Production of fat is exceptional (127)!

Health traits are on a good level (104 Udder health and 108 general health). With a breeding value of 121 on Body Capacity, VJ Sort will be a perfect choice if you want to improve both stature (124), chest width (119), body depth (107) and dairyness (106). VJ Sort is a value creator with the high production not compromising health traits. Also note the wide rear udders (109) and the good teat placement.

If daughter proven is essential to you, then have a look at the new daughter proven proofleader from VikingJersey: VJ Gislev.
 
VJ Gislev is in the absolute elite when it comes to Production (119) and kg’s of solids (119 protein & 116 fat). Fertility (103), longevity (106) and Udder health (113) are also some of the VJ Gislev trademarks.
